I am dedicated to my clients and will not handover a design that I would not be happy to create in my own home. I am a perfectionist (not always a great thing) but lucky for my clients that means I will go above and beyond to reach a viable solution to your interior design problem and leave no detail unresolved.
I am experienced and qualified. After graduating from university I worked in the interior design industry in Tauranga before stepping away to raise my family. Through my own renovation experience I have gained wisdom and knowledge to pass on to my clients, including practical skills - if you need some painting tips I'm your gal!

my story
Born and raised in New Plymouth, I returned home 10 years ago to bring up my own young family in a city I had grown to realise had immense appeal.

My interest in all things interiors began as a child and never waivered throughout my life. At university I gained a Bachelor of Design, with a major in Spatial Design. I have always had a passion for the design and planning of spaces. I have a curiosity for the way a house is set out and a desire to to put things 'right' and make homes more functional.

My introduction to renovating began when my husband and I bought our second home. We bought a house that was in need of some rejuvenation and I would spend my days dreaming and planning how we could improve the house to make it more suited to our young family.
Fast forward 5 years to when we finally had enough money to put my plans into action, a full home renovation with 2 kids and another on the way brought its challenges but it also taught us so many invaluable skills.
I had always dreamt of building our own home but I soon realised renovating was so much more rewarding.

I started Spaces by Design to allow me to hone in on my passion and bring my skills and expertise to other peoples homes.
When you are emotionally attached to a project its hard to see the bigger picture as clearly, I bring a fresh set of eyes and provide an objective voice to help transform your home or space into the very best version of itself.
